I’ve been using my A7III for “fancy” calls and not had any overheating problems. I haven’t tried the new Sony software out yet. It’ would be nice to remove the Elgato device (one more potential point of failure) from the process.

Personally, I have found SONY to excel on the hardware side in the sensor area but lag in the software. I bought one of their first mirrorless cameras and it make my pictures come out so much better than my photography skills.

SONY’s issue on the hardware side is that they always require their own standards such as Memory Sticks and custom HDMI cables. I saw no purpose of these non-standard hardware items except as a revenue stream for SONY

Agreed, hilariously dated across the board. I use Ecamm Live and as a specific example about the mic delay:
