Advice Needed from Pen and Paper Aficionados

Nowadays I greatly prefer bottled ink. In fact, I prefer piston-filled pens vs converters. So much more ink and I love the variety!

I like piston-fillers for long-form writing, but I use inexpensive Pilot Minis or Platinum preppies that I’ve added o-rings and silicon grease to in order to make them fillable by an ink (blunt-tipped) syringe for trying new inks before I buy a bottle.

I’ve always found the issue with nice pens; especially fountain pens, is the quality of paper you use. Most budget notebooks are terrible on this front and even some not so budget friendly like Moleskine.

I have something similar to this. And I have letter sized version, too. Neither are often used. The smaller one I kept in the garage on top of a tool chest. I am still a huge fan of legal pads. I have one at each of my desks. And I carry one in my backpack with computer and all that for when I am not in the office.

Looking at what you found here, that would be a good solution. I can’t speak to the fountain pen, I have little experience with it.
