I currently use a Mid 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro. I’m a graphic designer who mainly works on brand identity design using Affinity Designer and Photos. I don’t really mind the low-resolution screen of this MacBook, what bothers me is that it gets really hot when I start working on multiple artboards on Designer with a browser and Slack open in the background. This happens more easily when connected to an external display (Dell U2713HM, 2560x1440). I usually have my workstation setup like in the image below.
With that said, I’m thinking of upgrading to the 2020 13 inch MacBook Pro. I hope someone can give me advise on expected temperatures of the 2020 model based on my current use case. Thanks!
