I’ve run into the problem of breaking out of the RAG in October when I was writing about Pair Programming.
I ran into a much different problem on the weekend, it finds patterns and signal among noise. Doing my quarterly review on the weekend, I extracted all of my daily, weekly journaling notes and completed items from OmniFocus. To make them easier to read, I use sed/awk scripts to eliminate blank sections (from days I didn’t record something). Then I compiled each batch into its own doc. I also feed NotebookLLM my roles and arete.
After each reflective session I feed it my notes to that point and asked it what I missed, Sometimes it did catch things. On other occasions, it found signal in noise. I track my sales in my weekly notes. It found patterns and gave them meaning. I can promise you there is no pattern to my sales at the moment. There were other examples, so NotebookLLM is good at somethings, however it creates meaning out of nothing and in other cases missed the point entirely.
