well darn. At the moment my plate is really full an I only have time to configure one of them. I own KM already, so I guess that I’ll stick with that.

KM is really powerful and should meet a lot of your use cases. And, one of the most used Alfred features is file search but I guess, you could use Spotlight for that. You should be fine with just KM.
I just wish that you could specify search categories as part of the search syntax.
I want to be able to search everything, but I don’t always want to search everything.
Houdahspot uses the same search backend that Spotlight and Alfred do, but the frontend is much more granular and flexible.
