I am assuming that being heavily VC based, they saw a bigger opportunity building an IA powered browser than continue tackling the incumbent browsers. If that’s the case it would be a bet-the-company pivot.

I’ve been using Orion for a while now. It’s been pretty good. I like being able to easily sync current tabs/whatever between devices.
However, I really miss Arc’s profile and tab management system. Comparing different webpages via split tabs has become surprisingly essential to me for comparison shopping, reading/editing, and so on. Apparently it may come to Orion someday but we all know the adage about waiting for software.
I am tempted to build an automation to workaround its absence in Orion. It should be feasible to use a window manager to do something like “Open this link in a new window and then resize my current browser windows and my new window to sit in columns next to each other on my screen.” However, this won’t help me when I’m screen-sharing — I often find myself sharing multiple webpages at once via split tabs in Arc on Zoom calls, and I don’t want to have to share my whole screen to achieve the same thing in Orion.
I am also trying to resist the automation rabbithole as I’m likely to lose a day to perfecting a workflow… so for now I will just try Zen.

I’ve adopted the Zen Browser its basically Arc but on the Firefox engine.

Yes, and proper tab folders are supposedly incoming!
My needs are fairly basic, but I’ve recently moved from Safari (back) to Firefox purely because I can’t set a new default search engine in Safari. It has been around long enough to be stable and I like that it’s open source. I’ve heard anecdotes of some of the newer browsers that are still in beta (e.g. Orion) being a bit less stable and I could do without the risk of my browser crashing and losing my train of thought!

Well, Zed released their folders implementation a couple of days ago, and they are multi-level. A solid implementation, it looks!

I like my Zed - it’s amazing fast, but sometimes it’s resource hungry.

A few months later, and I’m still rocking Arc Browser. I have no intention of switching, it does what I need it to do.

I really love Arc user experience and design. Seems that Dia is bringing most features to it.
Until recently, I was using Arc as my secondary browser (Safari is my primary browser), most notably for admin tasks related to my membership site. I replaced Arc with Dia a few weeks ago, and so far, so good. The key features that drew me to Arc are sidebar tabs and being able to press ⌘S to hide the sidebar and focus on a single tab. Dia has both of these features.
On a side note, I use Sindre Sorhus’s app Velja to automatically open the appropriate browser. By default, URLs open in Safari. I have rules to open some URLs in Dia and Safari web apps. It works well.
