I agree with you… but I would not use the term “decided”; we (as society) just looked away when was happening.

Yeah, I agree. I think the more applicable wording is probably that precedent has been established, and we haven’t consciously acted to overturn it.

Legally speaking, there’s a ton of stuff that’s effectively law, that’s never actually been decided upon by a legislative body, because that’s how the courts have ruled. So we get kind of a “law of neglect”.

I think Apple can do better, and use some common sense - but everybody’s idea of “do better” and “use some common sense” seems to differ, and those differing ideas are radically at odds with one another sometimes. Just look at the kerfuffle with Facebook. :slight_smile:
