Thanks for the info but I use my Mac as a server these days. I checked my email and it looks like I tried little snitch twice, in 2007 and again in 2016. Time flies.
I guess they’ve made one or two updates since then. 
I’m just curious, did you try this tool before reinstalling? I just had this license activation issue last week and this tool fixed it perfectly without a reinstall!

Yes, that was the first thing suggested by the IT department, but didn’t work for me — even after doing the basic uninstall.
