Any MPU Bloggers?

I love the diversity of designs here - much more interesting (and memorable) than sterile, uniform LinkedIn pages! (This was Jaron Lanier’s gripe against Facebook — and I have yet to see a homepage as idiosyncratic as his…)

Mine is riddle.press - the tagline is either “rambling prose” or “ridiculous puns”. I have a few tools-for-thought essays I’ve been meaning to post, as well as a small obsession with e-ink tablets. Folks here might enjoy the Paean to an E-ink Tablet.

I was thinking the exact same thing!

I read Denny’s About page. And now I want to be him!

Ha! Yeah, I’m really privileged to be able to live where I do. That said, it’s a very rustic life in some regards. I don’t have hot water and using an old fashioned outhouse in the winter can be a harrowing experience sometimes! It’s an odd mix of modern tech with old ways of living.

That’s a great site both in terms of design and in terms of content!

I’m still re-thinking my web presence after shutting down a WordPress site I had maintained as an old-fashioned notebook “web log” for over a decade. I’ve moved portfolio stuff to a GitHub pages site, https://johnlaudun.net/, and I’m trying to work on longer form writing on a Medium site:

https://medium.com/@johnlaudun

But I really don’t like how Medium doesn’t make it possible to write outside their UI. (You can post to Medium from iaWriter, I know, but you can’t edit from there.)

Thanks!

I’m hosting with Blot, which I learned about from @ryanjamurphy. I’m using their Magazine template.

Currently, I use a Git repository to get my files to Blot, and iA Writer for writing. I find it a straightforward, simple setup.
