This is sweet and probably by far the most sensible and economical solution, except that I don’t trust myself not to break something during the conversion…! Will likely pursue a tinker-free solution but wanted to give props where props are due.
If anyone is still following, I pulled the trigger on a monitor during the Black Friday sales. Ended up going with a Dell S2722QC. I got it at a substantial discount. Honestly, no surprises, it’s fine. For the needs I specified, any higher-spec’d options would be comically underutilized and likely not even noticed or appreciated. Many thanks to all that made recommendations, so far so good even with the port situation. Even picked up a laptop stand (also at a tremendous holiday discount), mostly because I needed the desktop real estate on either side of the monitor. Very happy with it, if I’d have known I was going to go with this stand I’d have opted for VESA mount, my cable management situation is a real… real somethin’… but anyways thanks again to everybody who weighed in! I’m having trouble uploading images lately but hopefully this will work, here’s the pic…
