I just got a pair last week. I was able to get one setup and working w the Meross app. But it’s not appearing in the iOS Home app, which I think it should, because Matter?
Anyone else tinkering w this? Thanks in advance!
p.s. Using an iPhone 14 Pro Max on the latest release iOS version. Also have a HomePod mini and new HomePod in the house.
I think that for Matter to work, all of your devices have to be on a certain version. But Apple did pull the Matter Update due to quality issues At one point. I also think you have to opt into upgrading to Matter from Homekit.
Hmmm, now that you mention it I do seem remember Matter maybe being bumped from one point release to another? But I thought it had made it in 16.2 or 16.3.
If they did, it’s not just an OS update, you need to opt into Matter.
Do you mean the end user opts-in or the developer, in this case Meross, opts-in?
My belief was that When you update your OS. It doesn’t automatically change you over from HomeKit to
Matter. As the user, you have to ask it to make the change.
I could be wrong, I’ve held off.
