I would totally agree with you. The challenge is that the introduction of AI in some sense is a slow burn, so we often don’t notice, such as photo apps making enhancements, or searches being contextual. If we turned off all AI on our devices we might be shocked at what disappears. I can see more and more features being offloaded to AI moving forward so your OS becomes an AI.
I’ve returned to Sequoia as a response to Tahoe that was an absolute fiasco for me, but am glad it was as I realise I need to make a decision on what I do if AI becomes embedded with no off toggle. I’ll stick with Sequoia until it is no longer supported by which time I’m hoping the direction of travel becomes easier to decide upon.

I think I missed the last of the genuine Lenovo batteries as I saw them initially a few months ago but repeated searches now turn up nothing. And yes, the fingerprint reader did work initially (I think) but nothing I do now fixes it. Also not the end of the world.
Corona from R. Charles Flickinger. He’s been developing the Mac version since 2001. Just started developing for Windows and Linux. Both of those will take some time to develop.
Corona is a flexible checkbook-style program. It uses general journal entries for credit cards and the like. That makes it powerful, but you’d have to know the accounting equation:
Income + (Assets - (Liabilities + Equity)) - Expenses
and some accounting principles to make it work well. I use a spreadsheet to break out these accounts. It can do payroll as well. There is a neat feature called Folios; when you want to do an estimate, but you don’t want it to hit the income statement. You can convert a Folio to an Invoice.
