I gave my old series 3 to my daughter when I purchased the 6, she tells me that repeatedly during the day, the watch tries to sync. I have never seen this. Did some light search in Apple support and nothing. Anyone here have a clue?

That can rarely happen when the Apple Watch has reached full storage. It is a terrible problem with the Apple Watch Series 3 when it comes to software updates (it was the last Apple Watch to only have 8GB of storage). The Apple Watch Series 3 is on its last legs in all aspects. I would wipe the device and start from scratch. You could also sell the Apple Watch Series 3 and buy an Apple Watch SE. It is better than the Apple Watch Series 3 in every single way.
