Apple Watch Series 9 New Feature ? Or Repackaged Existing Feature?

I am not sure if I should put this in the existing thread about the Apple Keynote. But the ‘new feature’ about double pinch that Apple was mentioning in their keynote. How different is this feature from what’s currently existing on the Apple Watch?

Go to Watch, Accessibility, Turn on Assistive Touch, and their options for pinch, double, pinch, clench, double clench.

Latest ATP episode said it is indeed the same feature.

On MacBreak Weekly, Micah Sargent (who does the IoS Today show too) said the feature is available through Accessibiilty on existing phones but he thought it has more capability or functionality on the new phones.
