Attributed strings are coming to SwiftUI

This will be huge for productivity apps.

In the next SwiftUI release, attributed strings will be integrated into the framework, including built-in Markdown support. I have been eagerly waiting for this as this allows for complex styling of the most important element in apps - text. It’s also a vast improvement over the UIKit equivalent. I expect many new productivity apps to appear using this - I can’t wait to start digging myself.

This is big. If I understand correctly, this is one of the things that’s held DEVONthink To Go’s editor back over the years.

But which markdown?! :wink:

Not much. Only the very basic things, italic, bold, links, as far as I can see.
I have more than a pet project that depend on this, so I’ll keep you posted if you want. :slightly_smiling_face:

I look forward to Orca, the KillerWhale Craft competitor!

@anon85228692 , please count me on the waiting list for Orca’s own Catalyst program!

Am I so transparent? :joy::joy::joy:

Seriously, thanks for the vote of confidence (that I could pull this off somehow) :sweat_smile:
