Is there a way to activate the last active window or just the foremost window after switching to a space with Mission Control shortcuts, ⌃ ← and ⌃ → ? Out of the box, no window has focus and I have to manually click first to begin interacting.
Strange, with me there is always a window focussed when I switch spaces with ctrl+arrow. It seems for me that the last used window on that space gets focussed.

Your reply made me realise that some application is stealing the focus.
Narrowed it down to HazeOver.

Glad you found what was happening. I’m also using HazeOver, with no problems.
Stopped using Spaces after I discovered Stage Manager. I now have all windows in the same Desktop and see only 1 at a time.
