A long time ago I relied on SQL, as so many others had to do. Times have changed. Frankly, I am doing much better in my world with data that is in SQL server databases, but relying on Python Pandas, Python Django, and R to massively “elevate” the data extraction and analysis power and capability. Under the covers, all these tools use SQL of course, but I no longer have to. It’s sort of like abandoning Machine Code, Assembly Code, and dare I say, C. Still needed and in use, but not by mere mortals as me.
