Bouncing folder in dock is distracting

I think this started with Sonoma, but if I keep a document on the desktop, every time the document saves or autosaves, the desktop folder in my dock bounces. (I put the folder there long ago for easy access).

I’ve tried this:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-bouncing -bool TRUE;

followed by this to restart the dock:

killall Dock;

No luck. I still get the distracting bounce as I work. Aside from moving “work in progress” documents somewhere else, does anyone know a way to make this bouncing stop?

You should be able to stop it with the setting:

System Settings > Dock > Animate Opening Applications

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately that didn’t seem to work when it comes to save files and getting the animation.
