This looks interesting. Am I right in thinking this could replace a notification sent to my phone via IFTTT?
For example, currently, I have a Shortcut run each day at a set time via a Personal Automation on my phone. The shortcut pings the Todoist API to see if there are any tasks that conform to a filter query string. If there are, the shortcut then hits a IFTTT web hook (IF), which in turn produces a rich notification (TTT). The notification tells me how many tasks there are and includes a mobile URL scheme link for the filter id to click on and open to that spot in Todoist.
The brrr website seems a little light on details, so that’s why I’m querying. If it does indeed do the same, I would happily remove IFTTT from the equation.
Edit - Tried it and it does indeed do the same as I was achieving with IFTTT.
2nd edit - I’m mindful that my use case is primarily to get a notification with a clickable link in it. The web hook, per se, is not really required. So if anyone knows how to trigger a notification from a shortcut with a clickable link in it, without the routes outlined, I’m all ears.
Edit 3 - After revisiting Actions, with its Create notification action & Show notification actions, and some input from Claude, I’ve now got clickable notifications working. I had looked at it before, but found setting up a bit of a head scratcher and ditched it. Claude paved the way!
What do you do with Pushover? Struggling for a use case.
Here are some of my use cases
I use it for things that I want to get notified about, but that does not involve having an app on my phone.
A lot!
For example notifications when:
