It was very strange to me hearing you guys talk about the Apple Newton on the email episode since I wrote the email service for the Newton way back when I was at Apple in the 1990s. As it happens, NewtonMail used proprietary formats from AOL… since it was base don eWorld which Apple was running on AOL software.
As much as I enjoyed working on the Newton… I only have one left which sits in a drawer and gathers dust.
