Does iCloud reset?

hey MPU,

I have no better way of explaining this…but working today on some files while sitting at my Mac Mini.
I do what I do every single time, open up iCloud Drive on the Mac, pick the file and focus.

Today’s surprise… all my folders and files had to be re-downloaded all over again for some reason…

Anyone ever experience this?

Any automatic OS updates overnight? Do you have that setting turned on that automatically optimizes your Mac storage?

If you upgraded to Sonoma recently this pretty much sounds as if you are experiencing what is described over here:
