Enhancing David‘s “Device Status“ Shortcut

I‘ve enhanced @MacSparky ‘s “Device Status” Shortcut by adding information about the Wi-Fi and mobile networks your device is currently connected to as well as the version of iOS it is currently running. Have fun with it!

That’s a cool shortcut. But the check for a Wi-Fi network is flawed if I’m reading it right. It seems to assume the Wi-Fi network is using the 192… private network address space. That doesn’t work for me because I’m on a network using the 10.0.1… private network space. At least when I run it the voice output is wrong. The list of approved private address spaces can be found here if anyone wants to tweak the shortcut to support them all.

Thanks again for posting this, I was thinking of enhancing a shortcut to add device type detection and now I know how to do it.

You’re right! Originally, I didn’t intend to post it so I just configured it in the way that it works for me.

One easy solution would be to just enter the first digits of your local IP instead of “192”. But there probably is a nicer solution…
Thanks for the suggestion!
