Ethernet to iPad via Mac?

Just curious.

I’m in my office and the wifi is dreadfully slow today, but the GB ethernet is screaming along on my M1 MacBook Air. It got me thinking about workarounds. I know you can buy a couple of adapters and get the iPad to use the ethernet cable. I am wondering, however, if there’s a way to use a USB-C cable to connect the iPad to the MBA, and piggyback on the ethernet from the MBA. I did some searching and couldn’t find any discussion of this, either pro or con.

Anybody know if this is possible?

Thanks.

Tony

Set up a WiFi network on the Ethernet-concerted Mac and connect the iPad to that:
