I understand that the Find My network will now find my iPhone even if it’s offline. Before it had to be online to be found. Will this be true for older devices without any special chips? Will iOS 14.5 update them to be sending out Bluetooth signals of their location? And what if new or old devices are turned off?
Find My devices will report their last known location to Apple. If they are offline, what your FindMy location will be is the last known/reported location. They don’t have to have the latest chip. Add your iPhone to Find My - Apple Support
