First impression macOS Monterey: it feels fast!

I updated to macOS Monterey and it’s the first update in years that did it in the estimated time. My first impression is that macOS feels faster. Apps like Affinity Designer launch way faster and the system seems snappier. And I’m running it on an Intel Mac Plus Safari is back to normal tabs!

Installing an OS can clear out old cruft, daemons, old preference settings, etc., that can make the user experience a little better. Plus, it’s new. New things are always better until they aren’t.

I know, but Big Sur made many things slower for me. That’s why my first impression is optimistic with Monterey.
