I don’t want CarPlay (Ultra) to control our cars’ systems like climate, lighting, etc.

But I won’t buy a car that doesn’t have CarPlay for maps, music, podcasts, phone, and texts. I hope every car maker who ditches it experiences such financial pain that the others learn from their lesson.

And how great is it to rent a car and have it be instantly “yours” with CarPlay? Same thing. I won’t rent a car that doesn’t have it.

I’ve never used it, and since I stopped buying new cars decades ago it won’t be a factor.

I wonder if GM is working on an automotive AI agent like Mercedes-Benz?
