I saw the news on Arstechnica. There’s a support page on google about the purchase. It looks like it needs to pass regulatory approval.
Was it “purchased by” or “sold to”?

You’re right. Google likes to sunset or sell projects. I’m also hoping they Google legacy workspaces doesn’t get shuttered. It does seem like there was enough backlash that they reversed the decision on the free legacy accounts.
