Help reading a kernel panic report

Howdy folks, I’m hoping somebody can shed some light on this kernel panic I experienced this morning.

  1. I don’t know why the format is so weird…but my kernel panic reports have always been this way.
  2. It appears to be something related to the USB hub…but I’m terrible at interpreting these things.

What I really want to know is if it has anything to do with a USB peripheral I have attached that mutes/unmutes the system microphone (a device by the company MuteMe). It doesn’t seem like it is related as I can’t see any info in the report that seems to point to this…but again, I’m terrible at reading these things.

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: Also, if there’s a better forum to post this to just let me know.

Do the kernel panics stop when you unplug the peripheral?

Why not open a ticket with MuteMe and ask them to review the kernal panic report? It looks like something going wrong on the IO bus, and if the panics do not occur when the device is detached, I would say you have your culprit.

Plugging in or unplugging the peripheral does not cause a kernel panic. They’re so infrequent (last one was nearly two months ago) that it’s hard to nail down the issue.

But they always occur at random times, sometimes when my computer is idle (apps are open, but I am not actively doing anything).

I do have an open ticket, they mentioned that their first batch was causing kernel panics with certain users. So they sent me a prototype with a new chip that was supposed to correct that issue. I have been using it for nearly a month without any kernel panics, and therefore assumed that everything was fine. But with this one that occurred yesterday I am wondering if it is still the MuteMe device. I’m sending the kernel panic to them as well to get their input.
