I agree, if you gain something from an app it definitely can be worth the investment. For me the currently available markdown editors I already have are sufficient for me. For work I cannot use iA Writer (for most things) and for school I need to write in LaTeX, so I t will not give me enough benefits. If at any moment I could do more of my writing in Markdown and really need the focussed mode I would definitely look a iA Writer again.

I found export to Word words very well with iA Writer. This would be something that I cloud benefit from when writing in Markdown and then exporting to Word. After that the process will need to be done with Word, but most of the writing is already done at that time.
