Dropbox works - icloud may do if it feels like it 
- it may do if you talk to it nicely - its temperamental and inconsistent
I have no issues for individual users syncing their Macs using iCloud. It works very well.
No it doesn’t have the control and sharing options of a Dropbox. But for individuals it works very well.
