iTunes Wish List email - possible SPAM?

I received an email today supposedly from Apple about iTunes Wish List that looked VERY SUSPECT for a couple of reasons.

  1. The font used doesn’t look like anything “Apple” would use, similar but off.

  2. The email it was from was “no-reply@email.apple.com”. All my other Apple related emails come from “no_reply@email.apple.com”.

  3. I have never heard of “iTunes Wish List” before and the 2 movies they claim I selected are definitely NOT anything I would be interested in.

  4. Why would it be “iTunes Wish List” and not Apple Music Wish List?

Has anyone else received this email???

I received one as well and it did seem suspect. I don’t remember ever using an iTunes Wish List and wouldn’t care what is on it now so I just deleted the email.

I see stories discussing the emails and the end of iTunes Wish List on various Apple focused news sites. Those stories are treating the emails are real.

I got this email too. A blast from the past! Some of these movies I’ve totally forgotten about. I long ago moved tracking of movies and TV shows to JustWatch. I’ve learned to be be patient and eventually the movies I want to watch will show up on one of the streaming services I subscribe to.

Is it just me or is the Watchlist in the TV app terrible? You have to go to the home page and scroll forever to finally find it at the bottom. It’s so far down the page that you have to wait for the page to load more content to finally see it. Really Apple? These are things I say I want to rent/purchase and you’re going to bury so I’ll forget about it like I forgot about my iTunes Wish List?
