Thank all for your suggestions. I think Pocket might be the only option for me.
@munishp I don’t think you can email to it like Evernote but I just drag and drop on my iPad.

What I do is save an article using the clipper and then convert it to a web archive. If I’m done with it I just delete. Pretty easy so far, no snags.
