Lost a note in Drafts - backup?

I lost a note today. Either it disappeared by some bug or I accidentally deleted it or I selected all the text, cut it and forgot to paste.

I’m not sure what happened but it’s gone.

Is there a way to get it back within Drafts? Some backup method I can revert to.

I also have Time Machine on my mac and Drafts installed there. Would that do the trick?

Any help is much appreciated

Have you checked the trash folder in Drafts?

This next won’t help directly, however once recently I over wrote a note with a massive amount of text and discovered that Drafts has built in versioning.

Start by looking in trash and archive. Sometimes I’ve accidentally deleted the content of a note so it appears as blank. Even these are recoverable from the get info option as @mlevison mentioned above. You can go back and restore an old version. Saved me many times.

As @oldblueday says, Version history is your friend

The problem with version history, the note was in the trash and the trash was emptied, then version history won’t help.

FWIW I don’t know if you can empty Drafts trash.
