Now THAT’S what I’m talking about!
I hadn’t considered a handle, but brackets for keyboard and trackpad fixed on the back of an iMac? Why not?
(OK, I admit I can think why not. I may end up with using a notebook…but maybe not)

This looks interesting as well:
Nice.
I totally get this. There are a lot of times I’d like to have my iMac Pro where I could sit on the couch/recliner or bed and use it.
Something like this:
I had one of those. I remember lugging it around the Dallas airport. No fun!
So, my questions are: “Why does ErgoQuest guy have to keep opening and closing his laptop?” and “Why is he so fidgety?” The thing has a bit of a medieval-torture-rack vibe, so maybe he’s afraid of it.

Why not look into a NAS of some kind? Then you don’t have to have multiple drives attached, and you can do backups as well.
Starts at $10,000 and powered by Android. Sigh. Looks cool though.
I’m running CAT6a cable in my new house, so that’s an option. But the files I want access to are my FCP and Logic/S1 projects, so I’ve always been wary of a NAS.
NAS for backup makes a lot of sense.
