A+. I’m really grateful for the rec. The back catalog looks rich.
I agree. How often do we see variations of the same question show up here? Not everyone is a ‘power user’ when they join this forum or find the podcast.
It’s also a time commitment to listen to those podcasts and it’s our numbers that drive revenue (ad sales).
Not sure why we’re talking about Myke, but since we are I’ll say I think he’s a good host of his shows and a good guest on this one.
(I do reserve the right to start complaining about him if he does not do a deep, deep dive review of Hey.com at some point. )
He’s the best!
As far as Connected feedback, the show and Myke are both on Twitter.
I enjoyed Jim H also. Even though I wasn’t interested in many of the topics that he discussed (although I did learn about Forscore which made it all worthwhile) I found him fun and easy to listen to.
Yes, all these please! So many cool careers and walks of life that we could learn from beyond the podcasting/tech reporting/developer bubble.
As an academic, I’d love to hear/offer ideas about research workflows such as using Pandoc, scrivener, yaml, and reference mangers, for instance. Or how researchers doing cool stuff with Macs, maybe like crossover with some of the Liftoff/aerospace type guests.
Hmm, there are gender/identity biases in all kinds of apps, so I wouldn’t assume content is unaffected. For instance, lots of AI models are notoriously biased to white male-presenting appearances. I would be fascinated to hear from people with different identities to learn if they encounter differences in their use of Macs/software because of their identities.
Yes!
I love Katie, but I did also start to feel her heart wasn’t quite in it anymore towards the end–which is okay! I’m always amazed how much energy David has.
Yes. I wonder if some “challenges” like on Adapt could be a fun way to explore corners of the internet and workflows they don’t normally do.
+10000000000 for this one!!! academic stuff please
Well I wanted to stay away from the discussion because it was becoming too polarizing for my taste. But I have to say this seeing so many negative comments on Connected (for which this is neither the right forum nor the topic).
I eagerly wait for Connected every week, because for me, it feels a place where three friends are hanging out and talking tech, a concept which I really enjoy. I love the bad puns and over-the-top jokes (ASMR one comes to mind).
Not every podcast has to be about deep learning. Some can also be a place to hangout like friends. At least that’s how I feel about Connected and I love it.
Same. I’m all for feedback, but this has turned sour. Gonna lock it, but I’m keeping it up.
