MBP M1 Lasting Longer on Batter After Reindexing Spotlight

I reindexed Spotlight two weeks ago. After that was finished I’ve noticed an improvement in the battery life of the M1 MBP. I don’t think I’m imagining this. The M1 has always had great battery life but I guesstimate I’m getting another hour or so. I work all day (~10 hours) on battery and I never get below 40%. Assuming this is accurate, why would that be?

An hour extra is great. I think is because maybe you use spotlight for finding your documents always and they were not indexed so more power +more energy was used…. I might by wrong since here no expert…

I hadn’t considered that there may have been files not indexed. I use Spotlight all of the time to launch documents, apps, to go to preferences, etc. Good thought, thanks.
