Back when I was selling into the corporate space I LOVED the idea of Network Computing and honestly I still do. This was early 2000s though and I think most SMB only had Gigabit networks for their high volume networks. I remember we had to make sure they remembered the NC clients were a bigger hit to the network and we had to make sure it was up to snuff.
Heck even Apple had NetBoot functionality in OSX. I’m still bullish on the idea of sort of a hybrid approach where the client chooses local or remote hosting. There is value in both approaches.
