My #1 suggestion: Shoot raw format wherever possible.

Thanks for taking time to provide such good information, much appreciated. I usually shoot in RAW with my good camera but never think to do so on my iPhone. I need to are a closer look at how to do that and do it more often, though I need to be aware of the impact on iCloud storage. I’ll need to remember to do my editing on the RAW file, reimport to Photos, and then export or delete the original RAW photo in Photos.

strongly suggest you consider the Z8 instead of the Z9 - it’s essentially a Z9 with a better form factor and lower cost.

If I shoot raw, I always keep the original raw file for future processing.

Thanks for all of the advice. I also keep RAW files when shooting with my Nikon but I’ve never shot RAW with the iPhone so I do need to experiment. Thanks again, I appreciate your time and advice!

It feels like the forums are just the extension of the cult of productivity systems that have become a lucrative niche for people to teach you how to spend hours saving 1 minute of time. (I would argue it’s not even saving you the one minute, but point stays the same).

I find that there’s definitely some discussion of productivity systems here, which isn’t something that I’m interested in at all. There also seems to be enough discussion about general Apple topics as well as people seeking and giving help, to keep me coming back pretty much every day.

This forum is a bright spot of civility and community that’s distressingly uncommon out on the Internet and it’s nice to have a community like this, even if not everything being discussed is my cup of tea
