No purchase, no cry

FWIW I’m pretty happy with an LG monitor plugged into my MacBook Pro at work. And the TB3 bus is great – with a breakout box I can connect any number of peripherals including striped RAID boxes that are fast.

The non specialised working life of a Mac is about 6 yrs.
After that, your capabilities are comparatively limited.
At that point, it’s a lifestyle choice; all depends on how resourceful you want to get.

As well as a larger Swissgear backpack for trips and a smaller Booq for work, I have a Peak Design 10L sling, which is intended for a DSLR and a few lenses but also has a dedicated pocket for iPad. I was surprised that my 11" MBA can fit into this pocket at the same time as my 9.7" iPad.

I honestly thought about the new MacBook Air, it would be a nice upgrade from my Mid 2013 MacBook Air. However, I don’t honestly use my current MacBook often enough to justify the newer model.
I spend most of my time on my iPad Pro 10.5 and my Windows device. Not even upgrading my 8 Plus this year.

I have a 6 month repeating task set on Things to check out this post on macpowerusers. It has saved me so much money.

Just because I can upgrade, doesnt mean I should. This post helps me get off the hype train.
