I have an iX500 as well. They seem to last a long time. Not sure if Ricoh is keeping the quality up or if there is a sub when this thing fails.
A quick Google suggests it mightā¦
I am using mine with no problem. However, I have it connected wirelessly and saving to Dropbox directly. So that may be why it continues to work with the latest scansnap software on the latest versions of MacOS.
Iāve been trying to go paperless as much as possible myself. At work, I use digital invoices and contracts. I scanned my old documents and now use cloud storage for everything. It saves so much space and hassle. For personal things, I keep my bills and receipts digitally. I use an app on my phone to scan them (and it actually helps me track expenses and stay organized). I think that going paperless takes a little extra effort at first but is definitely worth it, looking at the bigger picture.
Which app are you using? Iāve tried a couple, but havenāt been satisfied with the scan quality.
I use Scanner Pro, and have for years. Keeps getting better as iPhone camera gets better. I also use a Brother scanner with my iMac for incoming paper.
Iāve been paperless since I first got a Mac and donāt regret it at all. DEVONthink holds everything and all my scans come in via SimpleScan by Drafts supreme Greg Pierce. Thankfully my life is evolved to the point my incoming paper is few and far between anyway
Scanner Pro really got better when they added the export function which moves your scans out of the iCloud dedicated folder to wherever you want it.
EDIT 1: On the other hand, Drafts is a wonderful program if you can make it work for you. So I just downloaded SimpleScan and weāll see if it works for me. One less subscription is always good.
EDIT 2: A question. Iāve always saved my receipts per day dated ISO format and not per individual receipt dated and timed ISO format. Less granular, but is that going to be a problem?
Actually the one mentioned here, Scanner Pro. Iām happy with the quality.
