Prime Just Ruffled My Feathers!

poetic! Funny how we all have different tastes and preferences.

I’d say! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Just reminded me of Deadwood (the TV Show).

In the original audience test, dialogue was ladened with expletives and the audience howled with laughter. The issue was that the swearing was appropriate for the time and place, and culture has changed, so the archaic, antiquated language seemed quite silly and had the opposite effect.

So they pretty much copy pasted the single word “c*cksucker” over all of those varied and meticulously researched vulgarities, dramatically improving the impact of the dialogue and restoring the intended tone.

Not seeking to fuel a fire, but just because an audience “howls with laughter” does not make expletives right or appropriate. Swearing is not appropriate nor shows respect. Swearing is an expression of anger or hate. Culture is not the standard for behavior, otherwise we would not have to train our children in manners and decency.

That is just wrong in 80% of cases.

I couldn’t be less interested in video or other extras. $79/year for free, and usually fast, shipping is all I want. And, yes, I would pay more for inflation and other adjustments. What is the connection between shipping and movies? Blah!

And Amazon has no real competition. If I lived in a really large city (Dallas is the closest one to me), shopping at local merchants might be an option, but I don’t. What I want/need likely isn’t available where I live, and even if it is, it probably will take a lot o time to find it. And nothing approaches the breadth of items on Amazon. And the reviews on Amazon, though they can be misleading, I find to generally be helpful.

Someday, hopefully, there will be significant competition for Amazon. But for now I’ll just have to pay for the extras to get the Prime shipping.
