Re-Pair Apple Watch

I am getting prompted to “re-pair” my Apple Watch to enable Unlock
(Yes, I have done the Keychain and Library deletes)

Will I lose my Health/Fitness data if I do this? I’ve got about 4 years
worth of data and am 23 miles into the June Challenge.

Unpairing should not cause any data loss. Health data is saved to health and should persist even if you decided to stop using Apple Watch completely.

Also, when you unpair, the phone first makes a backup of the watch. So when you re-pair, it can restore from that backup.

I have just been through something similar upgrading from an 8 to a 13.

Make sure you back up the iPhone - either through iCloud or encrypted through your mac. Preferably both.

I thought I had lost everything in spite of having backed up. I had to go back to the original phone and back up again. It was one of the most frustrating tech experiences I have ever had.

Unfortunately the only reliable way to get a backup of your Watch is to unpair it. Fortunately, as has already been mentioned, health data is stored on the phone independently and should survive this process unharmed (it always has for me).
