Safari auto mail/pw fill-in conflict

When being prompted for an email and password in Safari (on Mac and iPad), the 1password popup is hidden behind the safari suggestion popup. Clearly I should disable the safari suggestion popup. But how do I do it? I read a suggestion recently (was it MacStories?), but I can’t find it or retrieve it from my memory.

Mac: Safari->Preferences->Autofill
iPad: Settings->Passwords->Autofill Passwords
