Is anybody else experiencing the issue where certain key apps (BetterTouchTool, Bartender, CleanShot X, Yoink to name a few) just aren’t launching in Setapp - and when you try to manually launch them, you get a pop up saying the app can’t launch as it isn’t responding?
I’ve seen a couple of Reddit threads on this where, despite the latest Setapp update where it says it’s been resolved, it is still happening (definitely for me) and the only fix is to uninstall Setapp via CleanMyMac, then reinstall - and everything is fine.
Until the next restart, when you have to do it again.
Has anyone had this and is now resolved? Still experiencing? Or lucky enough not to have had it.
So if you ARE still experiencing this, as it seems others are in various Reddit threads, it’s the applications that start at login that seem to get stuck and cannot open. As soon as I changed those to manually start, all is Ok. Not ideal, but it’s a workaround until the next update that hopefully fixes it properly.
Now I’m just using Keyboard Maestro to launch those apps a minute after logging in.
Thanks - however THAT update still didn’t resolve the problem for me and for others, so I’m hoping that 3.49.11 does. It seems that if apps launched, BEFORE my Wi-fi connected, then that’s what crashes the licences.
My little fix of using KM to launch those apps a minute or so after logging in is working fine though and reminding how great KM is, so I’m quite happy in my little corner of the world!
You might want to try the free app Startup Manager Pro. It lets you set a delay before an application launches and can also wait until your Wi-Fi connection is active before starting the app.
