The problem is that my options are not consistent. If I go to a folder where all my alias email goes and then I swipe to the right on an email, sometimes I get “done” and sometimes I get “not done”, independent of read/unread status.
My small opinion, I think changing the terminology to something that is not universal is a cause for concern.
My brain wants to archive, it knows what archive is and means. However, done/not done may not imply or give the same meaning as archive. The same applies for set aside.
I think there needs to be common word usage across everything or else things get disjointed from just the user experience of the app.
I still don’t know how I feel about Spark going subscription, I generally don’t mind, because I understand the app development costs, expenses, etc. But it’s been 8 days, with them saying 'sorry, the glitch of ‘sent with spark’ shouldn’t be there for existing users from Spark 2, we will fix and address that. 8 days ago…
Debating whether to go to Apple Mail or find another service. I hate starting over with e-mail multiple times. At the same time, like I said, I don’t mind paying developers, but it’s a lot for just e-mail.
I’m really trying to keep an open mind as I put the new Mac version through the paces, recognizing that I’m like everybody else and am resistant to change. But . . . (of course there’s a but) . . . I’m really struggling to like the new version. It feels like a webpage, not an app, and the need to open a message and be jerked out of the main view (i.e., no preview pane) is slowing me down. But I’m going to keep plugging on, realizing I’ve grown comfortable with apps that were clearly designed in AppKit, so maybe with time this will feel less gross, as I don’t think even the last version was an AppKit app, and that wasn’t too bad.
Sorry to come late to the show, but great thread. Just want to throw this into the mix:
I know many of us are Setapp users and Setapp includes Canary Mail. I haven’t used it much other than when I need to send a secure email. Anyone other there that has run Canary through it’s paces and comment on how it compares to Spark, Mac Mail, FastMail, etc?
It’s been several months since I briefly used it, so take this with a grain of thought, but my recollection is that I really liked Canary, until I realized I couldn’t link to mail messages. That made it a non-starter for me. If I’m remembering this wrong, I’m sure somebody can correct me.
I tried Canary Mail briefly, I think its selling point is AI assisted emailing, other than that I find it annoying to use ( I forgot the details, as it was a while back) so I removed the app from my Mac
