And even if it’s not mundane, it’s frequently the same thing that was “breaking news” 8 hours ago. I’m not even talking about current updates on the story - I’m talking about the same video clips and b-roll, with the exact same information being read by a different talking head.

Indeed. I have learned over time to focus my attention and energies on my sphere of control and influence and not worry much about other things.
