Switching back to Apple Podcasts app?

I was using Pocket Casts for quite a long time. I’m now trying to get back to stock apps, but I’ve been facing a problem with Podcasts for Mac: after some minutes of playing, the reproduction just stops and goes to the next podcast in the playlist.

Does it happen to anyone else?

Never used the Mac app. I’ll use the web app in a pinch otherwise 99.9% of the time it’s used on my iPhone, at home often casting podcasts to my HomePods from the iPhone (sometimes using Handoff to the HomePod). Never had a fast-forward error like that on iOS.

Me neither. It’s just on the Mac.

I have used the stock app the whole time. I only listen to a handful of podcasts.

Update: last week I switched back to Overcast. :smiley:

Biggest things I’ve noticed coming back:

  • it’s so much speedier and responsive.
  • episode notifications work consistently
  • show notes are more convenient to browse.
  • no more annoying dance of trying to mark episodes as played so they will stay out of my “stations”

Even though having the Podcasts app everywhere (tvOS, macOS) was nice for awhile, I’ve found that keeping an Overcast browser window open on my Mac does the trick.
