I have 13086 photos in my photos library. I am syncing all of these to google photos using the backup and sync app on Mac. In google photos I am seeing 16860 photos. Why there is a different in count of photos ?
My guess would be that Live Photos are syncing as video and image files.

Dealing with photos can be really confusing - even with Apple’s Photos app today you’ll often see different photo counts between Macs and iOS devices, and while there are some possible explanations there’s no single, guaranteed reason or list of things to check.
