Which of the undoubtedly thousands of ways in which a couple of $K could improve the world is for you to choose. Maybe your use is to cure cancer, or even just to pay for your children’s or grandchildren’s education. That’s good enough.
Do you take your laptop and work mobile? Or is it usually docked with monitor, keyboard and mouse? If so, I wouldn’t upgrade. Just get some good quick external storage for a fraction of the price! Hold out. It’ll be worth it in the long run.
I have an M2 Max Macbook Pro and was recently hating my 1TB drive because it was almost full. I still love everything else about the macbook and it still does everything else I need it to do perfectly. Got a 4GB Crucial X10 Pro on Amazon for around $250, moved most non-essential stuff onto it and don’t need to worry about storage anymore. Even added it to my Backblaze account for no extra cost so it gets backed up off-site.
