Our office ScanSnap wouldn’t turn on. It seemed to be the power supply as the power kept flicking on and off. I was ready to replace the power supply when I Googled "ix500 won’t turn on’ and found this solution. Turns out there’s a micro switch on the left hand side that gets stuck…
I’ve had this exact issue ever since the first few months of owning the ScanSnap ix500. A little percussive maintenance jiggles it loose.
